T. Ester Mason

T. Ester Mason, age 42, was born February 27, 1969 in Benton County, Mississippi, to the late Rufus and Queen (Poplar) Mason. Two brothers, Howard Mason and Rufus Mason, Jr. also preceded him in death. " T" accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Bethel Baptist Church. He was a member of Sheffield Family Life Center and later joined Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. At a young age, T moved to Kansas City, Missouri. He was employed by Ford Motor Company and also worked in the construction industry. As a mechanic, he loved to work on cars. No matter how simple or complicated the tasks, he would fix it. T was united in marriage to Tarra D. Nevels on December 10, 1991 and to this union three children were born. On October 30, 2011, T departed this life. Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of twenty years, Tarra Mason; three sons, Karon Earl Mason, Tahj Tyrece' Mason and Xander T. Ester Mason; two brothers, Leon Mason (Lynn), Kansas City, MO and Jeffery Mason (Ronetta), Olive Branch, MS; five sisters, Mary Mason, Carry White (Ray), Linda Fair (Carl), all of Kansas City, MO, Georgia Henry (Sharron) of Florida and Ella Murdock (Johnny), Ashland, MS; one uncle, Odell Poplar, Los Angeles, CA; one aunt, Victoria Crum (Raven), Michigan City, MS; mother-in-law, Joyce Nevels, Kansas City, MO; four brothers-in-law, Gary Garner, Grandview, MO, Eric Garner, Lafayette, CA, Lamar Nevels (Kelly), Overland Park, KS and Jerry Nevels, Kansas City, KS; two sisters-in-law, Laron Baker (Uthman), Blue Springs, MO and Mary Mason, Grand Junction, TN; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel, with Rev. Gregory Nichol officiating. Burial will be in XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on this website.
